share-it in Cambodia
In 2006, share-it Cambodia was founded with the goal of networking European and Asian non-governmental organizations (NGOs) active in the areas of youth, gender, environment, democracy and human rights. share-it is a branch of the NGO share-it in Italy, which has specialized, among other things, in the development and implementation of projects working with disadvantaged youth as well as gender mainstreaming, active citizenship, and environmental enhancement projects.
share-it Cambodia wants to develop the level of co-operation between Cambodian and European NGOs as well as between Cambodian and its neighboring countries. It seeks to expand the possibilities for young people from both continents to get to know foreign cultures and be confronted with the traditions of other societies. It supports the mobility and flexibility of young people, thereby increasing their professional options on the global job market.
share-it is actively involved in solving global problems like how to protect the environment and support peace and democracy. It supports and develops projects, which create the possibility for exchange of experiences and knowledge – the Europeans from the Asians and vice versa. On this basis, the association share-it would become a sort of international “interface” for young people from Europe willing to learn from Asia, or for young people from Asia willing to learn from Europe.
